A traditional Okinawan style noted for its high stances, quick hand techniques, and low thrusting kicks. Many open-handed forms are the foundation of this effective martial art. The school teaches the historical Matsumura Seito (Orthodox) system of Shorin-Ryu with a direct lineage to its creation in Okinawa in the early 18th century. Emphasis is on practical technique, joint manipulation, nerve strikes, and pressure point fighting.
The art of traditional weapons with instruction in the bo (staff), sai, tonfa, nunchaku, eku (oar), and kama (sickle). Many various weapon forms are presented as the foundation of this comprehensive art. Modern street self-defense techniques using the combat cane are also part of the weapons curriculum.
Hakutsuru White Crane
One of the oldest Okinawan arts as handed down directly from China. A very flowing and powerful art that makes use of internal energy. The original kata are taught in their purest form. The style is known for its rapid hand strikes and effective pressure point techniques.
